What's on the menu?

One thing I've learned is that there is no perfect meal. Just because someone shares what works for them doesn't mean it's the gold standard or that you should always do that. We all have different recipes, different preferences and different goals.

The key is finding meals you enjoy that hit your macros while also doing good things for your body. Yes, it's great to look amazing, but it's also important to function as best as possible.

I'm a big fan of having what I call anchor meals (protein ice cream for the win!)

An anchor meal is a meal you have locked down. It's easy to prepare, you've made it multiple times, you don't even have to think about it, and you probably already have the ingredients on hand. It's a meal you enjoy, it hits your macros and you know you can count on it.

Anchor meals don't just have to be meals you make at home, either. They can be meals at restaurants or even quick options you know you can grab while you're traveling. The point is having reliable go-to meals that keep you on track.

That said, it's also important to have variety.

Trying different foods gives you more options when you're in social settings or situations where your normal meals aren't available. If you've practiced eating different foods and logging them, it's much easier to stay on track instead of feeling like everything is off the rails.

Food is fuel, absolutely. But it's also meant to be enjoyed, and it gives our bodies what they need.

Find a handful of anchor meals that work for you, keep those prepared and ready to go, then sprinkle in some variety. I think that's one of the simplest ways to make nutrition more consistent over the long term.
