BOUNDARIES

In sports, it's obvious when an athlete is out of bounds, there is a referee there to blow the whistle. Things are easy, the clock pauses, the players are reset and the game resumes. Wouldn't it be nice if life worked that way?

This is something I constantly have to be on high alert with. While I don't have an actual referee watching over, I do have alarms that can go off. Is my schedule putting a crunch on my priorities, how about my sleep and workouts; am I starting to neglect my nutrition? Is work and other stressors creeping in?

Maintaining boundaries is crucial. Things I do include shutting my phone down at specific times and occasions, scheduling blocks of time for sleep, workouts, eating. Being realistic with workload and demands.

Certainly I don't (and probably never will) have this mastered, but I think the key for me is to know when I'm starting to drift close to that boundary line and blowing the whistle on myself before someone else needs to.
