Breaking Through Plateaus: Five simple but critical steps to move forward

Often when someone hits a plateau, they think it means we need to "eat less and move more," the reality is usually found in the details. As a coach, my goal is to help you avoid the "absolute halt" and keep things moving in the right direction.

Here are the 6 factors that I see move the needle most often to determine if you’ll break through or stay stuck:

● Mindset is #1: It’s easy to fall into the "all or nothing" trap. If you things don’t go perfect (and they won’t always), get back in the game immediately instead of letting the day go.

● Adherence vs. Accuracy: You can be adherent (logging food) but not accurate (eyeballing portions). Small inaccuracies in the kitchen lead to big stalls on the scale. Accuracy is the gamechanger.

● Be Meticulous: Don’t just go through the motions in the gym. Keep tight training logs, refer back to them, and ensure your rest periods are consistent. Give your body every reason to progress.

● Foresight & Planning: Look ahead at your week. Where are the obstacles? When is the meal prep happening? When are you going to the gym? Control what you can control so the "unexpected" doesn't derail you.

● The Power of Consistency: No one bats 1,000, but champions are made in the consistency of checking the boxes daily.

Don't give up when things slow down. Give yourself grace, but don't fall into the trap of settling.
